General Aspects

Two centuries ago, before the science dedicated its full attention to purely physical aspects of nature, homeopathy and allopathy had together, hand in hand, served the needs of human health.

Aspiration to concentrate on physical aspect of disease has lead us to analyze and study  an organ, system of organs and their functioning and, inevitably, to formulate an abstract concept of pathology alienated  from the phenomenon of human body in its global reality.

Homeopathy is, on the other hand, based on another principle. Homeopathy does not recognize disease as an abstract concept, but it looks at a person having disease: it deals with each and every individual as a unique psychophysical-emotional entity and its relationship with the environment. It deals with a man and his complex nature, his rational aspects – accounting only for a part of the entire potential – but also irrational aspects.

Homeopathy as a method, is based on adopted universal principles, and aims to penetrate into individual nature of a person, to comprehend dynamics of symptom appearance and prevent their development.

Great homeopath from 19th century J. T. Kent said:
„It is necessary to observe symptoms preceding pathological anatomy“, they are indicators of the changed condition, that is, transition from health to disease: for that reason it is important, while communicating with the patient, to understand its perception of reality.

Disease in its progression, undoubtedly, may expand from one organ to another, but, on the other hand, it is clear that the origin of disease is certainly not in the organ itself. J. T. Kent realized that the diseased organ is the consequence, not the cause of disease.

As allopathic and homeopathic medicine differ methodologically, so therapist-patient relationships imply completely different approach in both cases.

In homeopathy, focus is on a patient, an individual, and context and dynamics preceding appearance of symptoms are of great importance.

Focus is always on an emotional aspect of disease, and it is, therefore, necessary to understand energy imbalance causing symptoms emergence.

Homeopathic anamnesis is aimed at understanding psycho-emotional structure of a person, as well as constitutional features that cause response of the organism to certain situations.

Talks about childhood experiences are inevitable because childhood is a period life in which foundations of psycho-physical health are laid down. It is important to reach to patient’s individual experiences as this is the only way to understand and contextualize, in a proper manner, his symptoms. It is also important to have information about family relationships and to find out emotional consequences left on the patient throughout different development stages of his life.

Homeopathic Remedies

In order to decide which remedy is the most appropriate, it is necessary to determine constitutional features of diseased organism.

Given symptom, migraine, for example, may occur in material medica of many drugs.

Therefore, there is no homeopathic remedy for diagnosed migraine, but, for an appropriate selection of a remedy, it is important to specify psychophysical-emotional aspects of each individual suffering from this disorder.

Thus, during medical history taking it is of utmost importance to explore constitutional features, to gain insight into all symptoms present, to review circumstances in which they occur, to know the pattern in which these symptoms manifest themselves, and chronological order of their appearance.

To complete picture of symptoms, it is essential to identify emotional context from which these symptoms have emerged.

It is obvious that by gathering purely measurable data about patient, a complete picture indispensable for prescribing medicine cannot be obtained. Access to information needed for selection of remedy may be gained only through open therapeutic relationship and free communication.

About Me

About Me

My name is Aleksandra Popovic, I was born on 12th July 1984 in Novi Sad (Serbia) in the family of homeopathic physicians, the founders of the Association Samuel Hahnemann from Novi Sad, the first homeopathic association in Serbia.

Homeopathy is following me since my childhood, faithfully providing me support in the life situations in which my body arouses expressing emotional distress.

I moved to Rome as a University La Sapienza scholar, where I lived for years. In my thirty-third year, already as a BA Art History and mother of three small children, while healing children diseases of my kids with homeopathy, I have started to realize all the potentials and magnificent effects of this wonderful discipline. For that reason, I decided to return to studies and enrolled Institute for Natural Medicine Omeonatura.

Four years of homeopathic studies had a special meaning for me. It was a path of acquiring knowledge, but also a path to personal development and understanding universal principles governing our, human nature.

I feel and express deep gratitude to Michael Brown whose book The Presence Process has greatly helped me to feel better and accept authenticity of my experiences without judgments and I happily return to that book today.

Great influence on me in my therapeutic path have had C. G. Jung, Wilhelm Reich, Bioenergetics by Alexander Lowen and work of Stanislav Grof. I am happy for being able to incorporate The Biology of Belief by Bruce Lipton into my path and to conceive new boundaries of medicine thanking to Psycho-Neuro-Endocrine-Immunology.
